Nahdet El Mahrousa (NM), meaning the “Renaissance of Egypt", is an Egyptian not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NPO/NGO) that builds the capacities of organizations to improve and expand their social impact. It is the first incubator of early stage social enterprises in the Middle East and the region, with + 50 000 followers on Facebook.
It is also one of the few in the world incubating young social entrepreneurs at the conception or “idea” stage. Social entrepreneurs apply to the incubator program at the idea or startup stage with an innovative idea that has the potential to address core social issues and achieve scalable impact.
The incubator model was designed to enable these social entrepreneurs to have the resources, capacity, and know-how to run social enterprises. Incubation aims to turn early-stage social initiatives and ideas into successful social enterprises. The NM incubator focuses on four main portfolios of SEs, namely: Clean & Green, Tech for Social Impact, Creative Industries (handicrafts and performing arts), and Wild Cards (promising social enterprises that are daring and innovative).
