The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) works to bridge the gap between academic researchers, professionals and business community by transferring innovative technological ideas, that could be daring and early-stage for private investments, into products and startup companies. It has launched and is funding the National Program for Technological Incubators INTILAC, managed by the British University in Egypt (BUE), proposing a financial support of 200 000 EGP per project to selected candidates.
Intilac has provided 28 technological incubators with funding of EGP 70m. Since 2016, over 182 companies have taken part in the programme, which has provided jobs for young innovators and pioneers, as well as entrepreneurs.
A total of 151 emerging technology companies were already operating in the local and foreign markets, with funding provided by investments and self-financing.
