The Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS) was created in 1997 under the Tunisian State's initiative to finance young higher education and vocational training graduates. It specializes in mesofinance for the promotion of very small businesses (VSEs), independent professions, craftsmen, farmers, services, and small trades. The Bank has a TND 60 million capital (public shareholdings count for 54%), over 220,000 shareholders and a 25-office network.
Financial services offered by the BTS include investment loans of up to TND 100,000 dinars, and TND 150,000 for higher education graduates; financing for young entrepreneurs without any binding guarantees; short-term loans; and financing from associative microfinance institutions.
